My 3 matrices:
Relevance: 5.5/10
Insightfulness: 7/10
Difficulty: 8/10
Overall: 6.5/10
Expectation: 60%
Key questions to consider:
Question 2 - Mole & Redox, Transition Metals, Electrolysis
Question 3 - Reaction Kinetics, Chemical Equilibrium, Energetics
Short writeup:
This paper stands out because of how different it is from other prelim papers. Most prelim papers in H2 Chemistry are hyper focused on Organic Chemistry. The question is largely focused on application of Organic Chemistry skillsets with a few physical chemistry question to supplement it. However, this paper has reversed the focus.
Upon first impression, the paper will seem intimidating. Organic molecules provided are large and highly complex. Questions are rather lengthy. It will look like an uphill challenge for most students.
For most students, they would find this paper rather difficult and provides a new challenge. The structure and questions in the paper are rather unorthodox. Few questions are repeated and hence, this paper is largely reserved for students who are scoring consistently a B minimally.
Overall, I would recommend this paper to students who are looking to practice physical chemistry and are largely unfazed by challenges. For students who are weak, this may crush your confidence and hence, you should only attempt this paper on a question to question basis.
