Short writeup:
ZhongHua Secondary School has been recognized as a Centre of Excellence for Mathematics and Science by the Ministry of Education in Singapore. Consequently, it is no surprise that their examination paper poses a significant challenge for most students.
This paper deviates considerably from the standard O-level format, featuring numerous application-based questions—arguably, an excessive number. While many students might find this intimidating, the amount of information provided in each question is not overwhelming and remains manageable.
Moreover, the abundance of application questions makes this paper exceptionally insightful. Students stand to gain substantial knowledge from working through it, especially with the guidance of a dedicated mentor to navigate the thought processes required. The critical challenge lies in developing these thought processes, which can make the paper particularly difficult for average students to pass.
Overall, this paper is best used for selective practice. The individual questions are highly creative and most beneficial when students are given ample time to deeply engage with them. Therefore, I do not recommend this paper for timed practice sessions but rather as a valuable tool for daily revision.
