Short writeup:
In our latest review, we delve into the Anderson-Serangoon Junior College H2 Chemistry Mid-Year Exam Paper 3. This edition of the Mid-Year exams tested students from ASRJC only on Paper 1 and Paper 3. For many, this was their first experience with a full-fledged Paper 3 format.
Many questions in this paper were sourced from past A-level papers and other JCs' tutorial questions. This means the paper closely mirrors the A levels, albeit with a limited scope due to its Mid-Year nature—not all topics were tested.
A key feature of this exam is the inclusion of contextual questions. These questions require students to think critically and interpret substantial information before solving them.
The paper's difficulty is fair, with questions largely drawn from tutorials or past A-level papers, featuring only minor twists.
Overall, it’s a well-crafted paper designed to help teachers identify students who are ready for the A levels. I recommend students use this as a timed practice. If you've done your revision, you’ll find it a solid routine practice. It's definitely a valuable addition to your revision plan.
