2025 ASRJC H2 Math Paper 2 Review — Why This Is The Perfect Benchmark for Future A-Level Candidates
The 2025 ASRJC H2 Math Paper 2 is an outstanding paper — highly relevant, intelligently designed, and overall a 10/10 for me.
One of its biggest strengths lies in its relevance. Most A-Level H2 Math papers contain at least one curveball that schools don’t anticipate. This paper has several. Students are pushed to think on their feet with questions that feel familiar at first glance, but once attempted, reveal an extra layer. There are also question types that don’t commonly appear in standard revision sets, making the paper especially valuable.
Some may argue that the paper is slightly overloaded with insights — and they wouldn’t be wrong. There is a lot packed in. But importantly, none of these insights are unfair or out of reach. They are the kind of learning points that reward students who are able to think independently. These are good discussion questions for tutors, teachers, and capable students, not the unreasonable “gotcha” style.
Overall, this is an almost perfect paper. In fact, I can easily see a future A-Level H2 Math Paper being set in a very similar style, though likely with slightly lower intensity. That makes the 2025 ASRJC Paper 2 the perfect timed practice for any student who wants to realistically gauge how ready they are for the actual A-Level exam.
