Short writeup:

The 2024 Bedok South Secondary School E Math Paper 1 offers a familiar yet slightly challenging experience for students, especially those who are average or below average in their E Math performance.

The strength of this paper lies in its relevance. Most questions are typical of what students have encountered in class or during past practices, offering a familiar structure. Notably, it includes a variation of the infamous graph with asymptotes that puzzled many students in last year's O Level E Math exam. This adds an element of surprise and pushes students to think critically.

While the paper feels comfortable for most students, it doesn’t shy away from offering insights. Some of the more challenging questions come from topics covered in Secondary 2 and 3, often considered the hardest for those levels. These questions will test students’ ability to explain their thinking, but for a Secondary 4 student preparing for O Levels, they offer a manageable challenge that can boost confidence.

For average students, this paper serves as a solid timed practice that helps build exam readiness. For weaker students, it’s a great starting point. The questions are designed to push you just enough, giving you a taste of what to expect without feeling overwhelming.
