If you are looking for some quick tips on how to become a better student, here are 10 tips that you can implement today.
1.Your environment matters. Go somewhere conducive.
If your home is noisy, crowded, and your grandpa watches his Tiktok video with the volume maxed out, it's time to get out of there.
Try going to a library, study spots in community centres, or even stay in school. Having a conducive environment goes a long way.
2. Plan your homework and revision time
Make lists if you need to. Use a planner, keep it on your Google calendar, use a Notion planner, or whatever that works for you.
By planning, you get to see what you need to work on, and potentially how much time and effort you need for each task.
3. A little goes a long way. Try using Atomic Habits.

5. Talk to your teachers and tutors
Your teachers and tutors should be able to tell you what you're weaker at and what needs to be improved on.
Go for consultations in school. Ask your teachers and tutors questions. If you've gotten a wrong answer, ask them why it was wrong. Explain your thought-process to them - this is important! During your assessments and exams, you want to be on the right train on thought, and getting there early is essential in helping you score.
If you need help, you know who to look for.
6. Study in advance. Skip late nights.
I get that some of you study better at night.
But let's be realistic. Your school is in the day. Your assessments and exams are in the day.
A good night's rest is necessary. You want all the energy that you can get in the day.
7. Eat healthy snacks
This one is self-explanatory.
Healthy snacks help keep you energised and keeps your mind alert. You won't feel the same way after munching on potato chips.
8. Study the way that works for you, but be sure to try out actual questions
Purely drawing mind maps or just making notes isn't going to cut it. Do some actual questions instead - this helps walk your brain through important thought-processes.
Becoming a better student is easy... it only involves making small changes
And the rest is up to you. Be consistent, and your hard work will pay off eventually.
